iOS Device Activation
Manual iOS Device Activation
Purpose: Please complete the following steps to setup your new iPhone or iPad. The phone will also be managed for security and auditing purposes.
This document is intended for first time or upgrade of an iPhone or iPad.
**If this device is replacing an old one, please turn off the old device before powering on the new one.
Sync your old iPhone with iCloud. If you’re a new employee, continue to Activation Steps:

On the old iPhone or iPad:
Select Settings
Select Apple ID, iCloud, Media & Purchases (on the top of the screen with your name)
Select iCloud
Under Apps using iCloud, select Show All
Scroll through the page and ensure that the sync option is enabled for anything that you want transferred over to the new iPhone/iPad.
Once all sync functions are enabled, its recommended that you wait a couple hours for everything to sync to your iCloud account. If you don’t give it enough time, expect missing files, photos, contacts, etc on the new device.
Turn off the old phone.
Activation Steps:
Power on new device -- Power off old device if this is an upgrade
Select Language
Select Region

Appearance
Select your preference

Quick Start
Select “Set Up Without Another Device” (IMPORTANT)

Choose a Wi-Fi Network
Select your WIFI option and enter the password.

Data & Privacy
Select Continue
-
Remote Management
Select “Enroll this iPhone”
Enter your network login when prompt with the Microsoft login (example: A012345@usventure.com)
Authenticate your sign in
If you’re a new employee, your authentication method should be the new iPhone or personal number.

Face ID
Select Continue to set up your face ID
or Set Up Later

Create an IPhone Passcode
Create your 4 more digit passcode

Apple ID

Sign into your Apple ID (iCloud account) if you have one for US Venture.
You will need your old device for authentication. If that isn’t accessible, please reach out to the Service Desk with a managers approval to reset your MFA.

If you don’t have an account, select “Forgot password or don’t have an Apple ID?”
Select Create a Free Apple ID
Enter your Name and Birthday
Enter your US Venture email address (example: ayang@usventure.com)
Create your Apple ID Password
Phone Number (Enter a number that can be used to verify your identity with a text message or phone call.
Verification Code (A code will be sent to the number you have provided)
Enter verification code into the phone
Terms and Conditions → Select Agree

Update your iPhone Automatically
Select Continue

Location Services
Select your preference

Siri
Select continue or Set Up Later in Settings

Improve Siri & Dictation
Select Share Audio Recordings or Not Now

Light or Dark Display
Select your preference

Welcome to iPhone!
If prompted “Enter the password for your Exchange account” (Exchange account = US Venture email)
Select Edit Settings and enter your password

If the edit settings do not bring you into the sign in prompt:
Swipe up → Go into settings on the iPhone/iPad → Mail → Accounts → USV Email → Re-enter Password → Continue → Enter network login password → Authenticate your login
Your US Venture email address is fully authenticated on your phone now and you can start utilizing the Outlook app.

Verify your iCloud account, if needed:
Go into settings → Verify Your Email Address → Send Code → Enter Code
Your iCloud account is now verified, and you can now use all its features.

If this is an upgraded phone, make sure your sync options are enabled on the new phone.

iPhone activation completed!
Sync functions are not instant! Please give it a couple hours to fully sync your iPhone/iPad from the iCloud server.
